EOIR is establishing a mandatory electronic registry for attorneys and fully accredited
representatives.  While Immigration Judges will still have discretion to let unregistered attorneys appear, an unregistered attorney is not permitted to practice before the BIA.

The benefit to eRegistry is that EOIR will use this information to maintain a centralized information repository of registered attorneys and fully accredited representatives. Eventually, EOIR plans to create an electronic case access and filing system for the immigration court and the Board of Immigration Appeals
(“Board”).

All attorneys and accredited representatives must be registered by December, 2013.
